About the society
Guided by faith, serving with compassion
BSWA Inc aims to provide burial services to its members based on Islamic law. The society was established to address the very real need of having to pay for a funeral, the amount of money required for such a solemn period is not often readily available for the majority of people. BSWA operates for residents of the Perth metropolitan area who meet the requirements of membership.

What we do
What we provide for members
For members, BSWA arranges and covers the burial in accordance with Islamic rites.
Islamic funeral and burial
Arranging the funeral and burial in accordance with Islamic rites, with the janazah prayer coordinated with the local mosque.
Ghusl and kafan
Washing (ghusl) and shrouding (kafan) of the deceased, carried out with dignity and care.
Cemetery and transport
Burial plot and cemetery arrangements, and transport of the deceased.
Support for the family
Support and guidance for the family throughout the process.
Interstate deaths: benefits may be claimed on behalf of a deceased member by forwarding a death certificate and any other documents BSWA requires.

Who can join
Residents of the Perth metropolitan area who meet the membership requirements.
What members agree to
- Abide by the constitution and rules of BSWA.
- Pay all annual fees by the due dates.
- Report in writing a change of address, and any new-born or adopted children joining the family.
- If a member of a member's family marries, they must apply separately if they want BSWA's service.
How to apply
- Download the membership application form (PDF).
- Fill in member details, spouse details, and all dependants (surname, first name, date of birth, relationship).
- Sign and date it.
- Return it to BSWA (return method to be confirmed).
